Qualified candidate should send their resume (Word format) to Nate Ackerman at mailto Infrastructure Architect - Houston, TX Long-Term Contract Job Description Solution Architects assess a projects technical feasibility, implementation risks and benefits to the user, while conveying the value proposition to ensure adoption. The Solution Architect will work with business partners and application representatives to understand the functional requirements, coordinate the formulation of technical designs with the Infrastructure Engineering team, and oversee the implementation of the solution to ensure compliance to requirements and technical standards. A Solution Architect must have broad knowledge of all different aspects of the technical landscape, as well as robust business domain knowledge. The Solution Architect will be responsible for designing and validating a complex architecture and ensuring its successful implementation. PRIMARY DUTIESRESPONSIBILITIES Oversee and support functional and business requirements gathering for Infrastructure Apply a structured enterprise architecture approach for translating those functional requirements into technical specifications Produce conceptual and logical architectures to meet strategic business, financial and technology objectives through documentation of systems, architectures, process flows and value-chains Provide continuous feedback between Infrastructure, Applications and business representation Build a strong relationship and rapport with key stakeholders, including business partners, Application leads and other Infrastructure functions (Engineering, Operations, etc.) FORMAL EDUCATION A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent years of direct experience required A Masters of Business Administration in a related field is preferred or commensurate relevant work experience WORK EXPERIENCE At least 8 years experience in information technology with 2 years of financial services experience and 2 to 3 years of technology architecture experience Financial services experience in Asset Management with exposure to complex concepts into multiple architectural views aimed at varying audiences Broad based IT Infrastructure knowledge and experience in at least one technical domain (Networking, ServerStorage Technologies, Databases - SQL, PostGRES, Oracle, Hosting Technologies, Cloud - AzureAWS etc. The role covers largely on-premise solutions but cloud experience is also a plus. Experience working in an Agile team is beneficial (product owner role). KNOWLEDGE ABILITIES Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate throughout the organization with a variety of individuals at all technical levels is required. Knowledge of mutual fund industry, data and processes highly preferred. Must have the ability to manage projects, establish priorities, meet deadlines and concentrate on detailed information in a fast-paced, demanding work environment. The ability to influence others so that project objectives are met is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are a must. Must have the ability to present technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
