Head of Field - Telecoms - Open on location - Salary up to £80k - negotiable DOE
A newly created role to lead, manage and drive the field division within the company. This comprises the Projects and Field engineering teams. You will have ultimate responsibility for delivery of field projects and in addition, the management of the production of quality and consistent technical documentation.
Job role of the Head of Field:
To lead, motivate and inspire the team on a day to day basis, this includes project managers, project engineers, field supervisor, project co-ordinators
To ensure projects and field teams clearly understand client's specific needs
To ensure there is appropriate engineering presence at an early stage of the sales process in order that there can be a smooth transition between sales and engineering delivery
To have and maintain a close working relationship with Sales Director
To ensure that proposed solutions meet the client's technical requirements
To ensure consistent and quality documentation in relation to FAT, LLD and SAT etc.
To ensure that site surveys are conducted in a consistent manner and that quality is maintained
To ensure that FATs are designed and managed in a way that meets the client's specific project needs and are managed appropriately
To have overall responsibility for the quality of the finished installation and delivery of the technical solution
To have overall responsibility for the monitoring of client networks where appropriate
To be the senior point of contact for the company's clients
To have overall responsibility for safe working when on site
To meet with new clients and to be responsible from a technical perspective for new bid preparation
To be responsible for managing the team against the key KPI of utilisation rate
To ensure that all projects are delivered efficiently and with profitability in mind
To ensure that new projects are priced correctly in terms of resource hours required and that time is allocated to each of the projects accurately in terms of billing
To be responsible for field client satisfaction
To be the company's senior technical authority
Strong leadership/management skills
Management of the production of quality and consistent technical documentation.
Experience of having worked for a System Integrator or equivalent
Experience of responsibility for delivery of projects and field based teams
Good customer facing experience
Good heath and safety awareness
Good understanding of IP based technology
PC literate, Windows, Microsoft office, MS Word, MS Excel.
Interpersonal and leadership skills
The ability to gain respect of their subordinates
Driving license is essential
Solid knowledge of at least one of the following disciplines: Microwave Radio, SCADA networks, Topside comms
