Embedded Systems (IoT) Manager

Embedded Systems Manager Client is their industry leader in home automation and the Internet of Things to provide solutions for connected smart homes. In this role you will manage embedded software development projects as well as the embedded systems team, to deliver high-quality motorized solutions for client's customers. As the embedded system manager you will have the ability to affect product focus and make an impact in this growing area of our business. You will not only manage people and projects but you will also be a strong technical leader and will work hands-on in the development of this exciting product. What you have Demonstrated history of launching consumer products. Drive, a strong sense of initiative and urgency 5+ years management of software development teams 5+ years experience with C coding for embedded devices. Familiarity with microcontroller architecture, RF stack protocols and implementation, and motion control code. Experience with any of the following development technologies is not required but is preferred New product introduction, ARM architecture, Embedded C programming, Git, GitLab, Docker, AWS. What you will do Manage a team of embedded systems engineers to architect, design, develop, deliver and support reliable, scalable and maintainable solutions for motorized window coverings. Develop and enforce standards, manage unit test protocols, and merge and build code releases. Review embedded system code, integrate with existing automated testing frameworks, and operate in continuous integration (CI) pipelines using unit, regression and acceptance testing. Define and lead process development for both inter-department and intra-department processes. Perform work planning, break-down, assignments, and follow through to delivery. Work closely with product management, quality, and operations to meet product specifications and ensure robust system operation Diagnose, debug and perform rootshy cause analysis of issues and defects Your Skills Expert knowledge of embedded C coding. Including, standards, architectures, design patterns and best practices. Demonstrated Expertise in project planning, work breakdown, project scheduling and delivery. Demonstrated Expertise in developing and maintaining effective work relationships. Demonstrable skills in analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills, including the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and closure. Ability and prior experience with establishing credibility and fostering collaborative relationships throughout the business. Solid knowledge of Agile and Waterfall schedule methodologies Solid knowledge of ARM microcontroller architecture. Solid knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems. Solid knowledge of Ethernet and internet related protocols such as TCPIP. Fluent with both Windows and Linux operation, CLI and desktops. Ability to discuss systems in both technical and lay terms with ease Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and good organizational skills
