If you match this description, get in touch!What you'll doDevelop, test, and ship embedded software to enable new use-cases, performance improvements and next-gen versions of flagship Philips Hue products, such as the Philips Hue HDMI Sync Box, to integrate smart lighting with home cinema, music, gaming and voice control.Work out the system design choices and specifications for new features connecting cloud, embedded and mobile components.Collaborate with other functions, like QA, product and partnership managers, as well as engineers from partner companies and suppliers, to jointly optimize our product experience.Perform data analysis, identify improvement opportunities and provide input to steer the product roadmap.Your qualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline2+ years of experience developing resource constraint embedded device software in C/C++, with proven projects shipping high quality software to customersKnowledge of on-board and networking communication protocols like HTTP, MQTT, TLS, mDNS, TCP/UDP, BLE, I2C, UART, SPIHands-on experience debugging hardware and firmware using lab equipment such as logic analyzers, wireless sniffers, oscilloscopesEffective communication skills and flexibility to closely collaborate with partners and overseas colleaguesPreferredExperience setting up FreeRTOS and/or Embedded Linux based platformsDomain knowledge in audio/video processing and HDMIAffinity with developing Cloud services which connect devices to the internetWhat you'll get in return...You'll be part of our growing multi-disciplinary Philips Hue engineering team in the Bay Area. This is a small site with large responsibilities to create and maintain Philips Hue partnership integrations and Hue Entertainment products. We develop first-of-a-kind products that can synchronize lighting with games, movies, and music, and we build integrations with products from other leading Smart Home and Entertainment companies. This position has a focus on device firmware, but we are interested in engineers with a drive to build end-to-end IoT solutions involving components in other domains such as Cloud services.Who we areSignify is the world leader in lighting.
