Director of IT Infrastructure

The IT Infrastructure team is the foundation that maintains all the activities and services that are required by H1 to support business functions as well as ensures the protection of our IT systems from harmful threats. The IT infrastructure team has responsibility for the applications that support key functions, Servers that host the applications and a vendor and cloud infrastructure that house the servers. There is also networking and security infrastructure that facilitates secure, managed access to applications and Servers for the business.

H1 is growing quickly, and so must our ability to provide services and infrastructure that is both reliable and secure to our international team!

The Role

As the Director of IT infrastructure, you will guide an international team in implementing best practice IT policies and procedures, evaluating and implementing tools and applications for better management, visibility, and security, and supporting our SOC 2 certification.

You will partner with our Helpdesk vendor to roll out better support and controls, and work with them to scale onboarding practices, and partner with our Dev and Cloud operations teams to do the same.


You are an experienced IT leader who is as comfortable leading a team as rolling up your sleeves and digging in. You are someone who can manage complexity and adjust your process to the context youre working in. You can balance the need to move quickly with the need to have a robust, compliant, and auditable infrastructure. Your natural inclination is to work collaboratively, communicate well with both technical and non-technical constituents and to be transparent, and see and give feedback continuously.

You are a strategist who can proactively implement security measures and controls while weighing the consequences of complexity on a small, agile startup environment.

You are a strong communicator who can effectively coordinate activities across the entire company. You are a lifelong learner - someone who is able to keep up with the pace of change that affects IT and security.

What You'll Do at H1

Support and evolve employee onboarding/offboarding processes.
Manage our 3rd party help desk vendor
Developing and implementing IT policy and best practices guidelines
Set up and implement user access controls and identity and access management systems.
Perform regular audits to ensure security practices are compliant
Recommend and deploy tools that enhance our IT security infrastructure
Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update business systems
Managing vendor relationships and compliance with vendor management policies


You have 6+ years of experience in IT
You have 2+ years of experience as an IT Manager
You have 4+ years of experience in defining, rolling out, and supporting IT security requirements in a regulated industry (eg healthcare or financial services)
Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
Excellent project management skills and a strong ability to prioritize
Must have experience running 24x7 operations
