This position reports to and supports the Chief Information Officer to directly manage OIT employees at all campuses and locations. This person is responsible for the strategic planning and production support of all systems, voice, data and networking operations for all campuses including day-to-day management of the hardware and software activities related to systems, voice and data communications and networking. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities for this person include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This is an at-will position.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Direct and oversee staffing, scheduling, screening, interviewing, hiring and evaluation of employee performance.

Oversees and directs the orchestration of work of several OIT departments, including Voice, Data and Network Operations to help accomplish the Institution's technology needs and goals.

Develops and monitors service level agreements (SLA), policies, procedures and metrics. Makes any needed adjustments in policies and procedures to ensure SLA compliance.

Establishes and monitors departmental budgets to provide direction for current and future technology expenditures.

Serves on institutional and statewide committees to provide direction, input and assistance with projects and initiatives.

Remains current in changing and emerging technologies and industry practices, anticipating possible impacts and benefits to the institution. Then plan and implement integration into the existing environment as needed.

Responsible for developing and enforcing departmental change control policies as well as emergency and disaster recovery procedures.

Directs assigned personnel by providing orientation, guidance, assistance and developmental training as required.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued

Preferred Qualifications

Certified in CCNA, CCNP

Higher Educational environment experience

Experience with Macintosh and Windows platform.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university;

5 years Full time experience architecting, configuring and managing a large Cisco enterprise network.

3 years Full time supervisory experience.

1 year experience in systems administration.

Experience can run in conjunction with one another.
