Job Description**Please note that Salesforce requires a *** per hour minimum wage for all contractors. The Search Team at Salesforce is seeking talented developers to help us ship, improve, and maintain a cloud-native, high-scale, high reliability, and high availability Search platform across a large fleet of machines spread across multiple data centers. If working in a fast-paced team on Large Scale Distributed Computing problems across private and public clouds then this team is for you.Primary Roles and Responsibilities:- You will ship software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development life-cycle.- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.- Be responsible for developing new solutions and testing the solution to assure production of a quality product.- Be responsible for analysis of current programs including performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of problem programs, and designing solutions to resolve system issues.- Be responsible for improving the observability of new and existing solutions including identifying metrics, building dashboards, and analyzing reports.- Creates and executes unit tests and addresses defects.- Provide rough estimates of work-effort needed to stakeholders and planning teams.- Be responsible for providing engineering support to our configuration team when they are building, deploying, configuring, and supporting the system.-Requirements / Skills:- Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field. - 2-4 years of development experience in Java- 2-4 years of development experience in Python- Knowledge of Object-Oriented Languages & Concepts- Knowledge of Database technology (SQL), including stored procedures and indexes.- Possess expert knowledge of classical programming concepts such as polymorphism, inheritance, and encapsulation- Possess strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.- Ability to work collaboratively with others and have excellent spoken and written communications skills.-Preferred Skills:- Experience with Agile software development is a plus- Experience with distributed backend systems- Experience with Search technologies (Solr, ElasticSearch, etc)
