Duties:This is a JUNIOR level information systems tech position, focused towards information/cybersecurity. Growth is into the infosec/cyber analyst/engineer brackets.Performs assigned daily/recurring tasking in support of cybersecurity efforts within the company, to include updates/patches, audit log reviews, threat assessments/review. Assists with evaluation and application of security requirements, and associated tools. Aids in computer incident investigations. Under direction, performs vulnerability and compliance assessments of company systems, processes, and procedures. Expected to have functional working knowledge of configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining operating systems, computer hardware, and network devices. Knowledge of common network protocols. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with non-technical as well as technical users. Interacts with employees and management in the performance of security and routine information systems assignments. Expected to research and stay current on relevant threats and trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements. Participates in report preparation and system security briefings, etc. Assists in development and operation of company IT policies and procedures, risk management, and change management process. Other duties as assigned.Work Experience: 2 years of broad IT-experience (not limited to one functional area or technology), OR 1 year of information security-focused work experience. Military experience preferred. Educational requirements: High School Diploma or higher is required. Current CompTIA Security+ certification (or higher level IT security certification) is required. Skills/technical: Ability to demonstrate practical knowledge of common information security/cybersecurity practices, IT hardware and software, network devices and protocols, cabling, wireless, and user support.Physical: Ability to handle IT/network related tools (device repair/assembly, hand tools, test equipment, cabling tools) is required. Standing, stooping, use of step ladder, and lifting may be required. Shall be able to lift moderate weight (up to 50 pounds) from the floor and transport IT equipment to various locations. Travel: Must be able to travel occasionally, but on-demand, for up to 1 week. This position may require working extended or non-standard working hours as needed. Candidates for this position must hold, or be able to obtain, a DoD Secret clearance.
