Position Title: Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert

Location: Bethesda, MD

Hours: 9 am - 5pm

Position Summary:

Iron Vine Security is a rapidly growing information security and information technology company in Washington, DC. We are looking to hire a Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a full range of cyber security services on a long-term contract in Washington DC. The position is full time/permanent and will support a US Government civilian agency. The position is available immediately upon finding a qualified candidate with the appropriate background clearance.

The Cyber SME facilitates development of effective cyber program across a Federal agency, including providing advisory for cyber and information security policies, standards, processes, procedures, technical guidance, and shepherding cyber projects through the appropriate agency review processes.

Job Requirements:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior cybersecurity management and leadership.

Ability to guide the development of enterprise-specific solutions and implementation guidance for agency management.

Subject matter expertise and ability to discuss all facets of the NIST Risk Management Framework, particularly including SP 800-30, 37, 39, 53, and 53-A, and Technical Cybersecurity solutions (SIEM, Vulnerability Management, DLP, Cyber Threat, etc.).

Ability to communicate cybersecurity technical and policy related projects to non-technical leaders.


4-year college degree.

10 years of cybersecurity or related discipline.

Security Professional Certification (CISSP, CISA, GSEC)

Additional Experience Preferred:

Familiarity with ServiceNow and development/maintenance of workflows.

Position Responsibilities:

Provide executive level expertise in the analysis, development, and implementation of enterprise level cybersecurity solutions, strategies, and architecture.

Analyzing the impacts of the proposed changes to enterprise Cybersecurity solutions, policies, procedures, and guidance and providing analysis to the agency for consideration.

Assist in the design, development, and implementation of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) solutions and strategies.

Analyze business processes, interview stakeholders, and evaluate strategic and cybersecurity plans to develop enterprise level programs.

Perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

Travel to our office in Washington DC and the customer's location in Bethesda MD may be required.
