Viasat's cybersecurity solutions efforts cover the full spectrum of cyber operations from creating defensible Cyber Architectures, Threat Hunting and Malware Analysis, Threat Intelligence Curation and automation through a Big Data Analytics platform, Red Team, Security Assessments, and Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) active cyber defense missions. These services protect our global commercial customer base and our VIP communications services for the US Government and Military.Position SummaryAs our Project Engineer, you will lead the technical execution and integration of cybersecurity solutions that include products, services, and programs. Work closely with management, support functions, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to lead the development, maintenance, integration, and operations of these services. Primary responsibilities will be technical execution through leadership, agile planning, systems engineering approach, and execution of contract deliverables while identifying and mitigating risks and collaborating with customers and key stakeholders. Successful candidates will serve as the primary technical interface to the customer(s) and stakeholders representing the entire program team and Viasat as a whole.Key Responsibilities Assist in developing, coordinating, and driving requirements and schedules to ensure the quality and timely delivery of customer deliverables Coordinate and review work done by other security, SW, and CSOC engineers, technicians, and other support staff Display proactive and flexible project-oriented dedication, with the ability to delegate Lead the performance measurements and improvement of our customer experience on the Viasat Government Segment Apply a collaborative/consultative working and leadership style, relying on common sense and personal competence for persuasion and consensus-building Work with business area management in assessing ANCS market/product offerings and opportunities, representing overarching engineering viewpoint of the ability of the business area to execute to derived cost/schedule market requirements Participate in technical feasibility decisions regarding new products/projects Requirements Bachelor's degree (engineering, computer science, cybersecurity) in a related field 7+ years' experience in delivering integrated Cybersecurity products and/or services, defensive cyber operations and/or security assessments Experience leading Agile multidisciplinary development teams using Scrum or similar framework, CI/CD, SecDevOps/DevSecOps Experience leading multi-disciplined engineering execution with teams over diverse geographical locations Contribute to proposal efforts and participate in ongoing business development Understand and experience in contributing across product/service life cycle to increase value and customer delight while simultaneously driving down the cost to deliver the solution Experience with MITRE ATT or similar frameworks to map current threats and security controls (e.g., NIST) to customer networks allowing to quickly identify detection techniques and increase the efficiency and accuracy of threat hunts and emulations Ability to think like an attacker Experience with DevOps, requirements and project management toolsets Basic understanding in three or more the following areas: Red Team, Cybersecurity Forensics, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Cyber Detection and Incident Response, Cybersecurity Analytics, Security Engineering, Purple team (Combination Red and Blue Team or experience across both) Basic understanding in three or more of the following areas: System Engineering, Cloud Computing, SW Engineering, Network Engineering and SD-WAN, Secure Networking, Security AssessmentsUS Government position. US Citizenship requiredActive DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasibleAbility to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% Preferences Master's degree Existing security clearance or ability to reinstate previous clearance. Perform continuous market and capability research across CSOC Ops, Threat Intel, Threat Hunting, Data Analytics, Red Team, Security Assessments, and Communications evolutions to align CSS services and solutions with market motions and customer needs (e.g., Defending Zero Trust Architectures and Hybrid Cloud Security Services).
