We are looking for a full-time Cyber Security Engineer 3 (Platform) for our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to Garmin's information security strategy, programs and best practice. Determine system and application level security requirements. Provide recommendations on security layout and architecture of a system or network with required security tools and existing tool functionality. Implement system security by ensuring that the entire system works as planned. This includes testing and documenting the entire system. Other essential functions include:Defensive Team:Responsible for ensuring that the Garmin cyber defense protections are adequate and effectiveProvides recommendations to Garmin leadership and technical management regarding current and future cyber security policy considerations and technologies, based on ongoing assessment of the evolving threat environmentDevelop and implement SOC and IR systems integrations through automation and orchestration including API, PowerShell, and PythonDevelop and implement new SOC and IR playbooks from threat hunts to tuning to alert maturity through automation and orchestration.Work with Security Operations L1-L3 on detection and response processes and playbooks.Perform threat hunting across networks, endpoints, various operating systems, various logs, and identities.Work with threat intelligence feeds and enrichment lookups through automation and orchestration.Incident response on investigations and applied in the context of a broader understanding of CSIRT and related systems and processes.Develop security focused content for SIEM, including creation of complex threat detection logic and operational dashboards.Encouraging improvement and innovation within Incident response and nurturing and developing less-experienced staff through coaching and written and verbal feedback.Define solutions to exceptions that occur during the performance of forensics.Prepare and review reports that promote constant security enhancements.Apply and execute standard information systems theories, concepts and techniques and assist in the development of standards and procedures.Transitioning, maintaining, or using Security Technologies such as Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint protection, Data Loss Prevention, and Forensic tools.Troubleshoot SIEM data collection, notification tuning and alerting.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates broad understanding of Garmin's business model, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales and MarketingServes as a mentor and provides guidance to less experienced IT workersResearches new technologies and proposes cost effective solutionsProvides innovation within area of expertiseFacilitates team discussions and meetingsRecognized as an expert in assigned discipline at Garmin and applies extensive technical expertise and analysis to initiativesContributes input to broader technology solutions outside of disciplineServes as a leader of changeDemonstrates professional maturity through giving and receiving constructive feedbackConflict is addressed effectively without appreciable oversight Coordinates department level non-project changesPerform other duties as necessary Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field AND a minimum of 7 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
