MITRE is currently seeking a motivated systems engineer to help support work that we are performing for the U.S. Army in Huntsville, AL. The candidate will work with a diverse MITRE and government team and help MITRE deliver data driven technical products to assist with decision making in: CIO strategic planning, Cyber operations and resiliency analysis, cost modeling and acquisition support and organizational change management. The support will include providing analysis and prototyping; development of operational and functional requirements; integration of systems to enable improved Cyber and NetOps operations; investigations of near-term (2-3 years) technologies that will impact the mission to sustain Army forces, and concept formulation to assist the Army in shaping its new and evolving Cyber role. The candidate will work with a team including software engineers, cyber engineers and data scientists to assist in creating top quality solutions that address critical business needs.Responsibilities include:Formulating and providing analysis and prototypingDevelopment of operational and functional requirementsIntegration of systems to enable improved Cyber and NetOps operationsInvestigations of near-term (2-3 years) technologies that will impact the mission to sustain Army forcesConcept formulation to assist the Army sponsor in shaping its new and evolving Cyber roleMinimum Qualifications:BS and 8 years related experienceApplicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.Required Qualifications:Candidates should have the following qualifications:Bachelor's in Information Systems, Systems Engineering or Equivalent with 5 years of related experienceDocumented success in defining work programs greater than themselves / a technical thought leader.Experience with DoD systems and operationsStrong communication skills - both written and verbal.Ability to integrate enterprise systemsAbility and willingness to learn quickly and ask questionsPossess the ability to define tasks or projects for small to medium sized teams, 3 to 8 peopleExperience analyzing system requirements and then developing Courses of Action to executeKnowledge of how to consider and apply parameters to improve system securityCandidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance which will require US citizenship.PreferredQualifications:Candidates should have the following qualifications:Proven record of engaging with sponsorsAbility to form strong MITRE teamsFamiliarity with concepts and requirements associated with Multi-Domain Operations is beneficialGeneral knowledge of network operations, data analytics, DODIN Operations, and cyber securityGeneral knowledge of Army and DoD operationsKnowledge of cloud based architectures and technologiesAbility to engage and interact effectively with senior government executives, program managers, and contractors.Experience with application programming and software development using Java, Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash and other common languagesFamiliarity with system management and configuration scripting tools such as Chef, Ansible, Docker, PuppetThis requisition requires the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCIMITRE is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
