Responsibilities The selected candidate will support an Intelligence Community (IC) mission cyber security watch and analysis center in implementing best practices for cyber incident response team (CIRT) data analysis and reporting and working to ensure the integrity and validity of data being analyzed. The candidate will essentially serve as a cyber and data engineer for the program. Responsibilities include Collecting and reporting on monthly metrics Analyzing the cyber data being indexed and analyzed to ensure data is typed as close to the source as possible. Developing and promulgating techniques for data mining using Splunk in answering what-if questions regarding appropriate usage of the network. Developing dashboards and complex queries to answer targeted questions. Providing surge Tier II cyber analysis in response to event alerts. Qualifications Required Qualifications Requires 12 to 15 years with BSBA or 10 to 13 years with MSMA or 7 to 9 years with Ph.D. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT, EE, Network Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Demonstrated experience in three or more specific areas to include analysis, network engineering, networking security. At least 5 years Splunk experience to include the development of dashboards, reports andor complex queries. Prior experience or knowledge of CIRT environments. Basic knowledge of networks Demonstrated ability to work well with teams or individually with minimal supervision Desired Qualifications Prior experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) as an analyst Prior experience with one or more of the following tools intrusion detectionprevention system, network anti-virus technologies. Relevant Certifications CEH, CISSP, Security+, or related certification.
