Our client is a young, high growth business who are based in South Africa. The client provides a suite of products including centralised mobile network optimisation tools (pulling information from lots of other tools with an analytics overlay), closed loop SON / automation and configuration solutions.





The client has a substantial existing customer base in the UK and is looking for and Europe.





The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for technical sales in the telecom’s environment.





The Business development manager will be required to:


• Identify prospects using lead generation tools and online research, with the intent to schedule introductory meetings.


• Pursue leads and qualify the opportunity potential


• Coordinate and communicate with SME’s to assist in opportunity and account advancement


• Gather the competitive landscape and market intelligence for target accounts.


• Meet or exceed monthly team sales targets as defined by management.


• Respond to RFI/RFPs.





Required Skills:


• Relevant Engineering or Business degree from a reputable university.


• 3 to 4 years’ experience working for a Software company selling telecoms software. Preferable in the RF optimisation domain.


• Proven sales record.


• Strong understanding of GSM, UMTS and LTE in a telecom’s environment.


• Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Selling to Customer Needs, Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism.


• Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive, and readily embraces change.


• Ability to handle clients professionally during all interfaces.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Engage and coordinate the appropriate internal resources in early-stage opportunities, and facilitate transfer of ownership to field sales at appropriate time in order to maximize win potential.


• Assess, clarify, validate and communicate customer needs on an on-going basis.


• Document all newly uncovered opportunities and estimated business potential.


• Must be willing to travel in Europe.


• Proven customer engagement skills


• Own car and driver’s license.


• EU passport holder





The role would have a strong commission element on top of the base salary.





Please note that the position requires international traveling. This would mean spending


company money and the handling of foreign exchange. We would require that all potential


candidates agree to a credit check prior to joining the company.
