Business Development Manager - BDM - Membership Sales, EMEA Telecoms & Media Trade Association

My client is a not-for-profits member association for digital business with particular focus on the telecommunications and media market.

The role involves selling memberships (from £1,600 to £150K in size), renewals and additional value added services to the association's members - they have over 900 members including Service Providers like BT and Vodafone or vendors like Ericsson, and Huawei etc.

The proposition of the association is quite complex in that it helps speed up solution development, encourages collaboration (working together on technology proof of concepts etc) and services include coaching, training, conformance and benchmarking against the associations standards. This is normally around network management and solutions such as real-time billing. Put simply the association helps create architectural / process standards, runs events and supports the ecosystem with technology initiatives and services.

Ideally they are looking for someone that could be in their offices in London 3 days a week (Clarkenwell) with the other two days from home. The role involves some travelling to their shows but most of the selling is done over the phone so the role would suit someone with solid experience of inside sales who is comfortable closing over the phone and who is bright enough to articulate the client's value proposition (it helps that they are a very well known player). Somebody who knows how to initial sales process and do Business Developmnet would suit well too.

Previous experience of Telecoms or Media would be an advantage but it is not essential.
