Role: Big Data Engineer
Location: Plano, TX (Remote)
Long Term Contract
This role will be writing code for data engineering in support of a Data Science team to assist in uncovering and stopping fraudulent transactions.
Responsibilities
· Turn statistical information into meaningful, actionable insights
· Will interact with various personas ranging from offshore developers to AVP's on a day to day basis
· Adapt and deliver solutions that involve multiple technology pieces which will eventually fit in the larger strategy and vision Data Platforms and deliver value to the business clients/executives
Mandatory Skills
· The client gave us preferable options for what he is looking in the ideal candidate. Option 1 is most desirable.
· Strong SQL Coding Skills
· Strong understanding of Data warehousing/Data Mart concepts
· Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts
· Strong understanding of big data analytics tech stack:
o Hadoop - MapReduce/HDFS/Hive/Pig
· Strong communication Skills
Nice to Have Skills
· Spark framework - pyspark/sparksql
· Python
· Scala
· Cloud technologies such as Azure/AWS
o An understanding would give an edge
o Storage/Compute/Networking /Security Services
· Snowflake
