Job Description:As a Big Data Engineer, build and maintain large scale data processing systems. Apply variety of technologies to develop innovative Big data solutions. This role is a critical element to delivering Fidelity's promise of creating the best customer experiences in financial services.The TeamPI Data Engineering team (part of PI Technology BU) is focused on delivery data solutions for the organization. As part of this team you will responsible for building advanced analytics solutions leveraging various cloud technologies and collaborating with business units across Fidelity.The Expertise You HaveHas Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a technology related field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.).3+ years of experience in implementing Big data solutions in data analytics space1+ years of experience in developing Big data applications in Cloud (AWS)Extensive experience in Object Oriented Programming (Java, Scala, Python), data movement technologies (ETL/ELT), Messaging Technologies (ActiveMQ, Kafka), Relational and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Spark, Elastic search, Graph database), Hadoop ecosystem (Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, Flume, HBase), API and in-memory technologies.Strong knowledge of developing highly scalable distributed systems using Open source technologiesExperience in Java, Python, Unix scripting or related programming languages.Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Maven, Jenkins, Stash, Ansible, Chef, Docker)Solid experience in Agile methodologies (Kanban and SCRUM)Cloud experience (AWS preferred)The Skills You BringYou have strong technical design and analysis skillYou the ability to deal with ambiguity and work in fast paced environmentYour experience supporting mission critical applications quicklyYou have excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal channelsYou have excellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organizationYour ability to understand and adapt to changing business priorities and technology advancementsKnowledge and technology trends in implementing of Big data ecosystemCritical problem-solving skillsThe Value You DeliverBuilding and supporting mission critical applications to provide the best customer experienceExploring new technology trends and leveraging them to simplify our data ecosystemDriving Innovation and implementing solutions with future thinkingCollaborating with internal and external teams to deliver technology solutions for the business needsResolving technical roadblocks to the team and mitigating potential risksDelivering system automation by setting up continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelinesCertifications:Company Overview At Fidelity, we are focused on making our financial expertise broadly accessible and effective in helping people live the lives they want.
