Big Data Database Engineer

Our client, headquartered near Denver's historic Union Station, is an AI enterprise SaaS platform powering computer vision with machine learning models, deep learning and edge computing to deliver the right content, to the right person at the right time in a respectful and ethical manner.

They are an innovative big data company specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning. They use computer vision in tandem with custom built, ultra-precise, proprietary models to process customer demographics and sentiment while capturing big data and delivering analytical reporting in real time.

The Opportunity

The candidate will work on and take ownership of improving the database structure and data pipelining of the organization. You will help ensure the scalability of the database infrastructure so that the system will hold up and thrive under increasing load as the organization rolls out across the globe. You will work as an integral part of the engineering team.

The Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data applications using selected tools and frameworks as required and requested
  • Update existing data store solutions to industry best standards if required
  • Work closely with the engineering team to integrate your work into our production systems
  • Monitoring data performance and modifying infrastructure as needed
  • Define data retention policies and produce extensive documentation for all applications created

The Requirements
  • 5+ years in industry developing big data applications and databases
  • Programming experience, ideally in Python, Spark, Kafka or Java, and a willingness to learn new programming languages to meet goals and objectives
  • Experience in working with real time data processing
  • Experience processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data, including integrating data from multiple sources
  • A solid track record of data management showing your flawless execution and attention to detail
  • Bachelor's Degree or more in Computer Science or a related field

  • Experience with IoT, Authentication, Smart Cities technologies
  • Experience in production cloud (AWS etc.) support and troubleshooting
