Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Dallas, Texas

The Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer position provides individuals an opportunity to apply their skills in a dynamic work environment while developing well-rounded competencies in products and services. As a member of the Cloud Operations team, the Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will work with the companies internal technical operations, software engineering, architecture, analytics, quality testers, and product owner teams as well as external partners to architect, develop, deploy, and support the core infrastructure and services in Microsoft Azure Cloud for flagship global SaaS subscription-based website. A successful candidate will demonstrate experience with Azure infrastructure, DevOps practices, and automation to create and deliver modern, scalable, and resilient cloud-based technology solutions.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, build, maintain, and support a public and private Azure cloud infrastructure and solutions to support the availability, orchestration, configuration scalability, maintenance, and monitoring of the platform (network, storage, compute, security, traffic management, identity management)
• Architect, develop, deploy, and maintain core infrastructure and services in Azure through automation leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies and source control solutions
• Assess, recommend improvements, and maintain identity management and governance for Azure deployments
• Work closely with teams across the organization, external Partners and business leaders on creating, building, and producing Azure infrastructure solutions for customer-facing applications and services. You will collaborate with the various product teams and leaders to design best-in-class cloud infrastructure solutions that leverage industry best practices, are scalable, reliable, secure, and meet performance requirements. You will be responsible for determining the overall technical infrastructure requirements for network, server, and storage resources as well as integrating any existing/required network, security, and any other infrastructure needs for Azure-centric solutions
• Help the organization achieve its uptime, performance, and reliability goals by designing and managing multi-region deployments and architectures across all core Azure infrastructure layers (network, storage, compute, traffic mgmt)
• Make security a priority at every step of the infrastructure lifecycle
  • Ensure that we are always audit ready with regards to security and compliance
  • Proactively identify and develop solutions for mitigating core infrastructure vulnerabilities.
  • Help to establish, implement, adhere to, and mature Azure technology standards and guidelines
  • Collaborate on security-related items with Software Engineering, Products Security, DevSecOps, and Technical Operations teams
• Perform on-call duties for escalated issues, system implementations and upgrades that may occur after normal business hours and on weekends as required to minimize business impact
• Improve existing processes through automating solutions of recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions
• Staying up to date on new Azure and cloud solutions, state-of-the-art infrastructure patterns
• Develop and deliver training programs to support the necessary skills improvement of operations and development staff
• Proactively analyze and bring forth ideas for continuous improvement
• Support and participate in the organization's Continual Improvement Program to conform to ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy procedures and meeting QMS and ISMS objectives
• All employees have a professional duty to provide any information related to security issues, incidents or situations that present a potential security risk to the ISO Team, Management or their Supervisor
• Other tasks and projects as directed by supervisor

Education and Training

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field from an accredited university and/or equivalent work experience
• Azure certifications a plus

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong understanding of networking, identity management, monitoring, logging, vulnerability management, public and private DNS; experience implementing/managing global DNS solutions a plus
• Strong understanding of Azure Active Directory and implementing solutions
• Strong understanding of when and how to automate deployments, maintenances, and testing for Azure
• Solid understanding of security concepts, protocols, and configuration.
• Strong awareness of secure infrastructure frameworks and cloud security best practices
• Experience with creating redundancy, fail-over, backup and disaster recovery plans and tools
• Experience with monitoring solutions such as New Relic, Datadog, or similar
• Experience with source control (Git preferred)
• Able to quickly establish relationships with peers and their teams to build consensus
• Works well in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with competing and changing priorities
